GHANA COMMODITY EXCHANGE (GCX) SET TO KICK OFF

The comodity Exchange is a regulated market that links sellers and buyers to trade by rules guilding fair trading.
According to Mr Ofori-Atta, the opening of the exchange is a boost to government's quest to create an orderly, transparent and effiecient market system for farmers.
..he continued, "the creation of approximately two hundred thousand jobs of both high and non-skilled areas will open for comoditiy traders, data analyst, risk manager, business advisors, store keepers, credit officers among others while some of the non-skilled jobs include cleaners, winnowers, re-baggers and loaders among other"
This incident will make maize, soybeans, rice, dry bean, sorghum and millet etc. be the first to be traded with using the Ghana Commodity Exchange policy and this will likely make it appear as a great advantage for the farmers. On the other hand, Mr Atta disclosed that the government is putting in works to see to the provision of credit facilities to farmers by stregnthening the day-to-day works of the ADB.
"What we are doing with ADB is actually a commiitment and a decison to strengthen the bank to increase support for farmers". said Ken Ofori-Atta.

The president, Nana Akufo Addo has promised that this policy will ensure that the victimization of farmers to chasing traders around in order to get them to sell their goods will be history. He strengthened his promises and made it look more livelier by bringing to the knowledge of the public that the policy will after the first year encompass international commodities such as coffe and some other mineral products.
The GCX is likely to favor the farmers so much, as it has been made known that will this policy, the farmers will be getting their pay after sales within 24 hours. Secondly, it will help the farmers to overcome the many challenges they face after the harvest of their crops, Evans explained.
"We expect the Ghana Commodity to deal with the issue of pricing of goods among farmers and traders after harvesting", ..he continued, "we also expect that the GCX will also help farmers to access credit at the low-interest rate".
The GCX have released some vital information concerning their operations, which inludes their warehouses locations: located at Ejura, Wenchi, Tamale, Sandema and Kumasi.
